May 23, 2026Backups are your safety net. Here is how to take a full backup of your BadidiTech hosting account before making major changes.
Full account backup
- Log into cPanel from your client portal
- Go to Files → Backup
- Click Download a Full Account Backup
- Set destination to Home Directory
- Enter your email to be notified when ready
- Click Generate Backup
Once generated, the backup (.tar.gz) will appear in your home directory. Download it to your computer from the same Backup page.
WordPress-only backup
UpdraftPlus is a free WordPress plugin that can back up to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3 on an automatic schedule — useful for sites updated frequently.
How often should you back up?
- Before any major update (WordPress core, theme, plugins)
- Before design or code changes
- Monthly minimum for active sites
- Weekly for sites with frequent content updates
