For those of us who have not yet experienced it, coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla is one of the most genuinely breathtaking experiences you can ever have, your designated one hour with them in their natural habitat will linger for the rest of your life.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Home to over 18 habituated mountain gorilla families, these two parks offer a unique opportunity to observe these majestic creatures up close.

There are four habituated gorilla sectors – Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park: Located in the Virunga Mountains, Mgahinga is part of the larger Virunga Conservation Area, sharing borders with Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park and the Democratic Republic of Congo's Virunga National Park. There is one Gorilla habituated family that is very famous for being in both Uganda and Rwanda with it’s preferred home in Uganda now for the past 8 years
Uganda offers two unique gorilla experiences: Gorilla Trekking and Gorilla Habituation.

1- Gorilla trekking (1 hour)
-Spend up to 1 hour observing a habituated gorilla family in their natural habitat.
-Trek through the lush forests of Bwindi or Mgahinga with experienced guides.
- Get up close and personal with these majestic creatures, learning about their behavior, social structures, and habitat.
- Take breathtaking photos and create unforgettable memories.

2 - Gorilla Habituation (4 hours)
- Spend 4 hours with a gorilla family undergoing habituation, learning about the process and observing their behavior.
- Accompany researchers and conservationists, gaining in-depth insights into gorilla behavior, habitat, and conservation efforts.
- Witness the gorillas' daily activities, from foraging to resting, and observe their interactions.
- Participate in data collection and contribute to gorilla conservation research.
Physical Condition and Age Restriction for Gorilla Treks
- Gorilla tracking requires moderate physical fitness and mobility.
- Age restrictions apply: minimum 15 years for trekking

Permits and Guidelines:
- Gorilla permits have be obtained at the at the Uganda Wildlife Authority office through a licensed Tour Company please contact us to help you secure your permit
- Gorilla tracking permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, we are not allowed to block, only way to guran
- Allocation of gorilla families is based on fitness level and age.
